　　SOUTH KOREA - The government has raised the alert for foot-and-mouth disease to its highest level after a fourth farm tested positive, which has caused the prices of beef and pork to rise and further burden Koreans who are already faced with high egg and poultry prices in the aftermath of the recent bird flu outbreak. According to the Korea Institute for Animal Products Quality Evaluation on Friday, the prices for beef and pork has risen by 9 to 10 per cent compared to the end of last month.

　　在四分之一的农场确诊感染口蹄疫疾病后，韩国政府把口蹄疫警戒拉至最高水平，使得牛肉和猪肉价格上涨。再加上近期禽流感的余波，韩国因此就濒临了昂贵的蛋禽价格，而口蹄疫使得韩国进一步雪上加霜。根据韩国研究所在周五做出的畜牧产品质量评估报告，相比上个月，牛肉和猪肉价格已经从上涨的9%增至10%。
